The Molokai Enterprise Community (EC) is part of the federal U.S. Department of Agriculture EC/EZ Program. The EC process in the U.S. began in 1998, which included the participation from the Molokai community. The EC process on Molokai involved thousands of community members in hundreds of meetings. As a result of the community-based planning, a 10-year strategic plan for Molokai was developed and the USDA designated the entire island of Molokai as an Enterprise Community. To date the Molokai EC has included and supported over 40 projects in its 10-year strategic plan.
