The Lanikeha Commercial Kitchen is a Certified Commercial Kitchen whose main purpose is to provide an opportunity for food entrepreneurs to start a small business to help diversify the economy. With the commercial kitchen, families are able to produce and package their products for commercial sales. Lanikeha also offers workshops throughout the year for prospective and current food entrepreneurs on topics such as: safe food sanitation, business readiness, value added food and a business and food expo.

Reason for Need
There are no commercial facilities in existence on Molokai to serve small family entrepreneurs in the food industry. With today's economic challenges, which are reflected in Molokai's over 16% unemployment rate, families are establishing small enterprises to survive economically.
EC Support
The contruction of the commercial kitchen was made possible in part through EC set-aside community facilities monies, which is accessible through designation as an EC project.
